Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff 3 EG-04 and 2 EG-05 positions on an indeterminate basis.

A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

EDUCATION:
A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives.

The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
o A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
o An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
EG-04:
• *Recent experience in the use of a national or enterprise automated inventory control system (i.e SAP, TEAM).
• Experience in managing materiel assets in a minimum of 2 phases of the life cycle
• Experience in working with multiple stakeholders internal and/or external to a Department.
• Experience in planning and assessing client materiel asset requirements

EG-05:
In addition to EG-04 above
• Significant** experience in managing materiel assets in all phases of their life cycle
• Experience in managing human resources.
• Experience in providing advice and interpreting policies on material management.

*Recent is defined as having been acquired in the last 5 years

** Significant experience is defined as the breadth and complexity of experience associated with performing duties for approximately 3 years

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in a 24/7 operational environment, for example military, policy force etc.
- Experience in performing technical evaluations of bid proposals for the selection of suppliers and contractors
- Experience in performing quality assurance inspections during the production of assets
- Experience in developing vehicle specifications and statements of work for custom built medium or heavy duty truck and box combinations.*
*NOTE: Medium Duty = 12,500 kg or less, Heavy Duty = 12,500 kg or more

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Willingness to work overtime if and when required.
Willingness to occasionally travel to storage facilities and warehouses around the country in an environment consisting of heat, dust, and humidity.

HOW TO APPLY:

3- Specific details of tasks or projects demonstrating how the experience was acquired (Situation/Challenge, Tasks, Action and Result).

Preference

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
