Duties

As Scrum Master, you will be responsible for guiding and enabling IM/IT project teams to improve process effectiveness using agile values and principles while eliminating obstacles and distractions. More specifically, you will :

• Develop and implement IM/IT processes, standards, and artefacts templates for business analysis activities, mentor and educate key stakeholders to foster an understanding of the discipline
• Perform analysis, cost-benefits assessments and prepares business cases for recommending best business solutions to executive and management teams
• Plans and executes sprints, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives
• Support planning, tracking, and reporting efforts required of the team
• Complete backlog items within an acceptable timeframe
• Organize the product backlog with the assistance of the Scrum team and ensure the team members are working on tasks that are reflected on the priorities
• Collaborate with technical leads to ensure that deployments meet client requirements.

Financial consumer protection is an integral part of the Government of Canada’s oversight of the financial sector. The Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC) ensures Federally Regulated Financial Entities (FRFEs) comply with consumer protection measures, promotes financial education and raises consumers’ awareness of their rights and responsibilities.

Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution or an acceptable combination* of education, training and/or experience.

*Acceptable combination is defined as a college diploma and at least three years of relevant work experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience working in a project management environment.

Experience using a management system that enables Agile methodology (such as but not limited to: Azure DevOps, Jira, etc.).

Significant** experience in leading and coaching teams.

Experience in applying and implementing both the scrum framework and agile metrics.

Experience in assisting with backlog maintenance and organization.


**Significant experience refers to the breadth and depth of the experience as well as to the complexity of the tasks generally associated with having performed a broad range of related activities which are normally acquired over a period of 2 years.

Scrum Master Certification

Experience working in a Scrum Master role.
