Duties

• Within the Integrated Services team, works in a dynamic environment to support the two sites (Charlottetown and Harrington) of the Charlottetown Research and Development Centre.
• Provides financial advice and support to clients, which includes the processing of transactions for accounts receivable and payable, revenue, collaborative agreements and travel, as well as related budgetary tracking and reporting.
• Administers the Trade Accounts Receivable Process (TARP) within the financial system, which includes verifying, inputting and invoicing for collaborative agreements, contracts and sales of goods and services.
• Verifies and inputs financial budgets using the Proposal Submission System (PSS) and validates in the financial system (SAP).
• Administers the Salary Forecasting Tool (SFT) through the financial system, including preparing, inputting and forecasting salary free balances, as well as producing reports for client needs.
• Coordinates, organizes and inputs client travel needs into the Shared Travel Services (STS) system and provide clients with advice and guidance on complex travel requirements.

Work environment

The Charlottetown Research and Development Centre (CRDC) is part of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s national network of 20 research centres. The CRDC focuses on the development and transfer of knowledge and innovative technologies for agriculture in Atlantic Canada. Its mission is to undertake research to enhance environmental sustainability of crop production systems in the heavily leached soils and sensitive watersheds of the Atlantic Region, diversification from bioresources both regionally and nationally, and innovative in primary production agriculture. The centre also supports national research in integrated crop production and several national crop breeding programs.

Intent of the process

The need is to staff one full-time indeterminate position.

A pool of qualified and partially qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures as well as various linguistic requirements.

Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
Experience in using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Experience providing financial support services.
Experience in providing advice, guidance and information to clients in a customer service environment.
Experience in collecting, inputting and reconciling data, and verifying accuracy.
