Intent of the process

The intent of this appointment process is to establish a fully assessed pool of qualified candidates. The immediate use of the pool will be to staff one position. However, the results of this process may be used to staff same or similar positions for future vacancies of various tenures at Public Services and Procurement Canada in the Ontario Region.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution specializing in Geomatics or an *acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

*acceptable combination is defined as completion of a secondary school diploma and 2 years of relevant work experience

Degree equivalency

Experience in providing expert technical advice relating to Real Property and Geographic Information System (GIS)

Experience using Geomatics software such as: Computer Aided Drafting & Design (CADD); land survey computational software; GIS

Experience in providing multi-dimensional Geomatics solutions

Experience in geo-referencing Geomatics related products

Experience in supervising and reporting geospatial project related tasks and assignments

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Current member of a Geomatics organization, such as: Association of Ontario Land Surveyors (AOLS), Canadian Institute of Geomatics (CIG), The Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA), Geospatial Information & Technology Association (GITA) or similar organization

Experience participating on Geomatics committees

Experience in Hydrography

Experience in Photogrammetry

Experience in Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM) and area measurement

Knowledge of projections and datums used to produce project plans and sketches

Knowledge of general principles of Land Information Management

Knowledge of the fundamental principles of Land registration in Ontario
