The Department of National Defence’s Assistant Deputy Minister (Data, Innovation, Analytics) (ADM(DIA)) is looking for IT Professionals at various levels who are skilled in one or more of the following IT/IM subjects to name a few.

DND and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) are together the largest federal government department, and the only department where military members work alongside civilians.
ADM Data Innovation Analytics is a new and growing branch, stood up in 2018 to enhance the Department’s data and analytics capabilities and to provide business innovation support. Within ADM DIA, our DG Digital Enterprise Modernization is home to some of the newest digital transformation projects. Our DRBM (Defence Resource Business Modernization) Programme oversees the modernization efforts of DND’s enterprise resource planning, based in SAP technology. This includes smaller scale Enterprise Modernization Initiatives, as well as the DEFENCEˣ Project, which is currently one of the largest capital project at National Defence.

Although flexible work arrangements (variable workweek, flexible start and end times) may be considered, long-term full time virtual work is not being supported by management at this time.

Information on language requirements
This is the minimum education requirement. The education criterion will be dependent on the position to be staffed and will be determined on a case by case basis.
Education
Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
Note:
1. Indeterminate incumbents in the IT group on December 9, 2021 who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
2. Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
3. At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met using this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.
