This Inventory may be used to staff vacancies in the following positions:
Passport Officer (PO)
As a Passport Officer, you will be assisting and responding to citizens’ in- person enquiries in either a Service Canada Centre or Passport Canada Office. Passport Officers are a part of a highly trained team, whose role is to administer the Canadian Passport Program while adhering to policies and procedures. As a Passport Officer you will liaise directly with the public to review intake, decision-make and process their passport applications.
Citizen Services Officer (CSO)
Working with the public in your community, Citizen Services Officers are the face of government, responding to citizens’ eService or in-person enquiries in our Service Canada Centres. The position serves as the primary gateway for enabling in-person client access to government services, entitlements and benefits and facilitates first point of contact resolution. In this role, you could be assisting citizens with a wide range of programs and services, helping them to become self-reliant in accessing our online services or assisting them with pension or passport documents.
Payment Services Officer (PSO) & Program Services Officer (PSO)
Working in teams you will play a critical role directly supporting some of Canada’s most vulnerable citizens. In this role, you could be speaking to clients by phone to help them understand program-specific legislation, procedures and processes required to receive services and/or benefits administered by the Department. You will also be responsible for maintaining client files using various computer systems. This work has a direct impact in supporting client’s ability to support themselves and their families through accessing Pensions, Employment Insurance and other benefits.
Integrity Services Officer (ISO)
As an Integrity Services Officer, you will determine the eligibility of persons applying for benefits including Employment Insurance benefits, Canada Pension Plan and the Temporary Foreign Worker program. You will monitor the payments of benefits throughout the duration of a claim and investigate claimants when there appears to be fraudulent behaviour.
Work is performed in a public facing office; however, telework/working remotely may be required. Applicants must be willing and able to work in sites accessed by the public and/or remotely if requested.
Work involves dealing with high volumes of clients in a busy environment.
A pool of candidates will be established and will be used to staff similar positions with various tenures and linguistic profiles within Employment and Social Development Canada in Calgary, AB.
Please be advised that should qualified candidates decline offers twice, they will be removed from the qualified pool.
Indeterminate and term employees at the same group and level or equivalent may be considered for deployment. Applicants from other groups and levels and all other candidates will be considered in the advertised appointment process.
HOW THIS INVENTORY WORKS:
• Your application will be active for 120 days. You will receive notice on your account 30 days before your application is about to expire. If you do not take action, your application will become inactive and no longer be considered. Should your application become inactive while the process is still open, you may select the link “update my inventory status” to reaffirm your interest.
• WAITING PERIOD FOR REASSESSMENT: The retest period for this assessment is 60 days from the date of results notification.
