Transport Canada in the Atlantic Region is looking for candidates who interested in the following positions: Senior Financial Analysts, Client Service and Quality Control Officers & Accounting Services Supervisors.
Senior Financial Analysts provide a wide array of services to clients to support their financial forecasting and budgeting functions.
Client Services and Quality Control Officers and Accounting Services Supervisors supervise teams of financial officers and financial assistants who carry out Accounting Services support activities for the region such as accounts payables, accounts receivables, capital asset management, work on national modernization and transformation projects etc.

EDUCATION or OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
ED1: A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization* in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics AND experience related to positions in the Financial Management Group.
OR
OC1: Eligibility for a recognized professional accounting designation. The recognized professional accounting designations are Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified General Accountant (CGA).
*The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.
EXPERIENCE
EX1: Experience using the MS Office Suite, including creating Excel pivot tables.
EX2: Experience in interpreting and applying financial policies, guidelines and procedures.
EX3: Experience working with complex financial information resulting in reports and recommendations to management.
EX4: Significant experience* in one or more of the following areas:
› Financial policy development or interpretation;
› Accounting;
› Internal control;
› Financial systems development, maintenance and support;
› Financial reporting;
› Financial audit;
› Costing;
› Resource management, planning and monitoring forecasts.
*Significant experience is defined as experience associated with having performed a broad range of related activities, normally over a period of approximately 2 years. In your application, please focus on the range of activities for the applicable area(s).

AE5: Experience in resource management, planning and monitoring forecasts.
AE6: Experience in working with the National Joint Council Travel Directive.
AE7: Experience in working with the Financial Administration Act and the Treasury Board's financial management policies, directives and guidelines (specify which in your application).
AE8: Experience in the Financial Management field within the public service (minimum 2 years).
