EDUCATION:
Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
EXPERIENCE:
EXP1: Recent* experience providing technical support and expertise in the installation, operation, support, maintenance, configuration, programming, security, testing or troubleshooting of Radio Communications.
EXP2: Experience analyzing, defining and documenting requirements and recommending solutions related to Radio Subscriber Equipment and Infrastructure.
EXP3: Recent* experience in repairing, modifying and maintaining wireless mobile voice and data communications equipment.
EXP4: Experience troubleshooting computer software and/or hardware using a systematic approach.
EXP5: Recent* experience in working with IT and electronic test tools (e.g. WireShark, multi-meters, spectrum/RF analyzers, communication protocol analyzers, power meters, oscilloscopes or signal generators) to test, analyze, diagnose or repair electronics equipment.
*Recent experience is defined as experience normally acquired within the last five (5) years.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
Occupational Certification:
Certification in Basic and/or Advanced Amateur Radio Certification Course
Recent courses in Motorola’s Key Management Facility (KMF) and Radio Encryption courses
EXPERIENCE:
Recent* experience working with multi-disciplinary or cross-functional business IT teams.
Recent* experience writing and maintaining technical documents.

Top Secret security clearance - NOTE: Successful candidates will require a valid RCMP Top Security clearance prior to appointment and throughout the tenure of their employment. The process to obtain RCMP security clearance involves a security/reliability interview and a field investigation regarding matters of criminal activity which includes reference checks, verification of credit/financial status, education, employment, etc. As such, the process may take several weeks or months to complete.
