Duties

Plans, develops and directs the analysis, review and presentation of project results; coordinates and reviews the development, processing, analysis, marketing and dissemination of statistical products ; prepares, edits and evaluates analytical material for publication purposes.

Plans, manages and coordinates promising new projects and methods to solve business cases with innovative ideas and alternative data sources.

Determines changes in the needs of clients; develops options and strategies to manage complex issues and multi-stakeholder relations.

Provides expert advisory and consultative services to data users (e.g. academics, policy makers, international bodies, etc.) on the results of projects, concepts and methods.

Supervises a unit and multi-disciplinary project teams responsible for significant multi-sectoral and inter-departmental files/issues; manages the financial resources attached to each project.

EDUCATION

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization* in economics, sociology or statistics.

*All applicants must hold a degree. An acceptable specialization must include at least two semester-based level courses (or an equivalent of 1 year-long course) in one of the following areas: economics, sociology, or statistics. These courses do not need to be part of a degree program in economics, sociology, or statistics. Equivalent courses in other programs for example, but not limited to: accounting, agriculture, criminology, commerce, data science/data analytics, demography/population studies, environmental sciences, education, epidemiology, finance, geography, health or mathematics may be applicable.

EXPERIENCE

Extensive*and recent** experience in the following activities:

EXP 1. Experience in managing projects.
EXP 2. Experience in AT LEAST TWO (2) of the following areas:
• Experience in consulting with stakeholders
• Experience in using or developing business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Shiny)
• Experience in Data Science methodologies (e.g.; web scraping, data engineering, machine learning)
• Experience in data analysis
EXP 3. Experience in leading research or data analysis
EXP 4. Experience supervising of a minimum of two direct report employees


* Extensive is associated with full-time performance of varied and complex duties normally acquired over two (2) years.
**Recent is usually defined as having performed the duties within the last five (5) years.

ASSET EDUCATION
