The anticipated intent/result of this process is to indeterminately staff (on a full time basis) two positions.
A qualified group of candidates may be identified and may be used to staff future permanent or temporary vacancies (including terms, actings, casuals, assignments and secondments) in similar-level positions (at full or part-time hours, including shift-work). Once established, the qualified pool will be valid for a period of one year and may be extended.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
Note:
1. Indeterminate incumbents in the IT group on December 9, 2021 who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
2. Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
3. At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met using this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.
Experience:
1. *Significant experience* with Microsoft server system environment
2. *Significant experience* with VMware VSphere ESX and VCenter infrastructure and maintenance.
3. *Significant experience* with LAN and WAN infrastructures and networking.
4. *Significant experience* in configuration and maintenance of server backup software.
5. Experience with analog or IP cameras.
6. Experience with application development or databases (SQL).
7. Some experience in basic electronics.

Depending on the requirements of the position(s) being staffed from this process, for current or future vacancies, any or all of the asset qualifications, operational requirements, and organizational needs may be applied at the time of staffing. Candidates may be contacted and assessed against these criteria at any time during this process.
Interested persons must meet the essential qualifications to be appointed to the position, in a manner determined by the Selection Board. A person may be appointed to the position even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications, operational requirements or organizational needs. However, meeting these criteria is desirable and may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.
Once established, the qualified pool will be valid for a period of 12 months and may be extended.
Please note that candidates (including persons employed in the Public Service) will not be considered to be in travel status or on government business and travel costs will not be reimbursed. Consequently, candidates will be responsible for travel costs.
Random selection may be used to identify which applicants will be assessed or appointed in this appointment process.

If a qualified candidate has been selected and appointed on an indeterminate basis from the established pool, they will be removed from the pool. If a candidate is selected for a specified period (including term, acting, or assignment/secondment) appointment, they will remain in the pool for future offers.
This process and the resulting pool will only be used to staff positions in the RCMP.
Any information provided by a candidate through their application or assessment that is deemed to be incorrect or fraudulent will be eliminated from further consideration.
Experience qualifications will be assessed upon application. Further confirmation or assessment may be conducted through reference checks.
