Under the direction of the principle investigator, the duties of the incumbent will be:
-To conduct enclosed controlled environment agriculture experiments.
-To collect and collate data, update data bases and contribute to data analysis.
-To prepare and analyze plant material from growth experiments in support of ongoing research projects.
-To participate in the design and implementation of experiments and assist in the interpretation of analytical data.
A pool of qualified and partially qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures as well as various linguistic requirements.

Education:
• Graduation with a degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in agriculture or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

Experience:
• Experience with conducting plant growth experiments using “enclosed” controlled environment agriculture systems.
• Experience with using data loggers, sensors and automated control systems in agricultural plant production.
• Experience with planning and analyzing experiments and interpreting results.
• Experience with conducting laboratory analyses of plant samples.
Education (asset):
• Masters degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in an agriculture-related area or courses at an undergraduate or graduate level in pest management.
Experience (assets):
• Experience participating in the preparation of scientific reports and scientific manuscripts.
• Experience supervising and mentoring junior staff (e.g. staff and students).
• Experience with conducting the analysis of plant metabolites.
• Experience with automated field-based plant production systems.
