Federal Economic Development Agency for Northern Ontario (FedNor) is the Government of Canada's economic development organization for Northern Ontario. Through its programs and services, and through its financial support of projects that lead to job creation and economic growth, FedNor works with businesses and community partners to build a stronger Northern Ontario.
The immediate need is to staff one (1) position on a indeterminate basis.
A pool of qualified and partially qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures as well as various linguistic requirements.
In the event that an employee of the public service is qualified through this process, and there is a temporary need, he/she may be considered for acting, deployment, assignment or secondment opportunities.

EDUCATION
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics economics AND experience related to positions in the Financial Management Group;
OR Eligibility for a recognized professional accounting designation. The recognized professional accounting designations are Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified General Accountant (CGA).
EXPERIENCE
- Experience in providing financial services, guidance, and advice to senior management;
- Experience in analysing, forecasting, and reporting on financial data;
- Experience in budget allocation, expenditure, and commitment control;
- Experience in providing training and/or presentations on financial management subject matter.
ASSET - EXPERIENCE
- Experience in using the financial system SAP.
ASSET - KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of Budgetary Cycles in the Federal Government.
- Knowledge of Federal Grants and Contribution Programs
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Willingness to work overtime, if required.
- Some travel may be required.

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, with intermediate knowledge of Excel and Word.
