The Geological Survey of Canada (GSC) provides a stimulating work environment with a passionate team and promotes work-life balance. The GSC's Quebec City regional office is located at 490 de la Couronne Street, in the heart of a vibrant neighbourhood and is a French-speaking office. The building is close to restaurants, parks, walking and running paths, etc. Employees have access to amenities such as showers, locker rooms, a gym and a secure bike room for year-round activities.
The intent of this selection process is to staff one permanent position.
A pool of (fully or partially) qualified candidates will be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions with various tenures (determinate period or indeterminate), with various linguistic requirement and for various bilingual linguistic profiles, various security requirements, various conditions of employment and for various locations.

Education
E1 - Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in geology, chemistry, physics or some other science relevant to the position.
Note: The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.
Experience
EEX1: Experience in data research, analysis, interpretation and synthesis.
EEX2: Experience in developing a variety of planning documents and reports.
EEX3: Experience in initiatives to improve information management, tracking and dissemination.
EEX4: Experience in logistics planning and activity coordination.
NB: A candidate may be appointed to the position even though he/she does not meet the asset qualification or organizational needs. However, meeting these criteria is desirable and may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.
Graduation with a Master's degree from a recognized post secondary institution with specialization in a scientific field relevant to the position.
