OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
• Possession of an Interprovincial Red Seal Certificate of qualification or a valid Provincial / Territorial Trade Certificate, or an acceptable equivalent Canadian Armed Forces qualification (QL5 or higher).

EXPERIENCE
• Experience working as a carpenter

COMPETENCIES
• Communication.
• Working effectively with others.
• Safety oriented.

EXPERIENCE

• Experience working or volunteering in a mixed civilian and military environment
• Experience supervising personnel
• Experience working as a carpenter in maintenance and construction
• Experience as a finishing carpenter
• Experience inspecting, estimating, and prioritizing work
• Experience in installing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of structural systems

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

One or more of the following operational requirements may be required, depending on the position being staffed.
• May be required to work overtime on occasion.
• May be required to work evenings and weekends
• Must possess and maintain a valid unrestricted provincial or territorial driver's license such as Class 5 License
• Willing and able to obtain a DND 404 license

Conditions of employment

One or more of the following conditions of employment may be required, depending on the position being staffed.

• Various security clearances – reliability, secret, or top secret
• Must possess and maintain a valid unrestricted provincial or territorial driver's license such as Class 5 License
• Required, but not limited to, enter confined spaces, climb ladders, erect scaffolds, work on elevated devices, crouching and/or kneeling, work at heights, noisy environments, and in adverse weather conditions
• Must be able to obtain and retain a DND 404 driver’s license
• Must be willing and able to safely perform a variety of physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Must be willing and able to wear CSA approved safety footwear and other personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Must complete periodic departmental and trade training and/or upgrading as required
