Duties

What does an Operations Assistant do?

Schedules tests taking place across Canada and manages the schedule of a number of assessors simultaneously.
Responds to inquiries and interacts with departmental clients via email and by phone.
Is the first point of contact for candidates at the Test Centre.
Is responsible for administrative tasks such as preparing, receiving and sending assessment material, sending results to organizations and candidates, creating and maintaining files, etc.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff five (5) positions on an indeterminate or term basis in the National Capital Region (Gatineau, Quebec).

A pool of qualified candidates may be established to staff similar positions of various tenures requirements within the PSC in the National Capital Region.

Also, the PSC will begin its Transition Plan to Hybrid Work this fall. Employees will be required to report to the PSC Gatineau office at least once a week, with the opportunity to telework the rest of the week, subject to change and operational requirements. This model offers interesting opportunities to combine the best of our traditions with new approaches to foster a diverse and healthy public service.

Applicants must complete the Unsupervised Internet Test of Cognitive Ability - Level 1 as part of the screening for this selection process. This test assesses general problem solving and reasoning ability. You will have 60 minutes to complete the test. You must complete the test before you submit your application for this position.

Operational Requirements:
Daily standing, stretching, bending, lifting and reaching to search and retrieve files and/or boxes (Maximum 15 kg).
