The Department of Justice is transitioning to a Hybrid Model. This means that our team members will be working on site (in the office) at least some of the time and teleworking from home, as operational requirements permit.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff two english or french essential positions and one bilingual imperative BBB/BBB position on an indeterminate basis, in Ottawa.

A partially or fully qualified pool may be established to staff similar positions within the Department of Justice with various tenures, various linguistic requirements, various operational requirements and/or various conditions of employment.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION or OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION

ED1: A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics AND experience* related to positions in the Financial Management Group; OR

OC1: Eligibility** for a recognized professional accounting designation. The recognized professional accounting designations are Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), and Certified General Accountant (CGA).

Definitions:
*The experience required must be related to financial management and relevant to the FI position being staffed. It can be acquired in the Public Service as well as through other means.
**Eligibility means that a candidate has met all academic and occupational requirements, including those with respect to degrees, examinations, and experience, without having to have obtained or maintained actual registration, certification or membership in a professional association.

EXPERIENCE

EX1 - Significant* experience analyzing and interpreting financial information in a work environment.
EX2 - Experience in the use of a financial management system.

Definition:
*Significant experience is defined as experience associated with having performed a broad range of related activities, normally over a period of approximately 18 months.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE

AEX1: Experience in developing business procedures or processes.
AEX2: Experience in resolving financial system issues.
AEX3: Experience in the use of the SAP system (System Applications and Products) related to financial and material management, such as the Finance (FI), Controlling (CO), Funds Management (FM), Salary Forecasting Tool (SFT), Materials Management (MM) and Sales and Distribution (SD) modules.
AEX4: Experience in providing financial advice and guidance to clients or management.
AEX5: Experience in accounting operations, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, corporate accounting and salary management.
