POSITION LOCATION:
This position is located in Toronto; however, the successful candidate may work from one of the OSFI offices across Canada (Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, or Vancouver).

Duties

Working at OSFI’s newly created Cyber Center of Excellence (CCoE) within the Industry Surveillance Division (ISD), you will:
• Play a key technical role in the development and implementation of Cyber security surveillance tools and operationalising a Cyber threat intelligence platform.
• Provide specialty cyber risk expertise in scanning, assessing and reporting on the Cyber threat landscape.
• Triage, analyze and provide insights on Cyber threats, vulnerabilities, events and incidents relevant to OSFI regulated institutions and the financial sector.
• Identify specific threats to regulated institution, industry-wide systemic risks and sector specific thematic issues and trends related to technology and Cyber security.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff three positions with a language requirement of English essential on an indeterminate basis.

A pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates may be created to staff similar or identical positions with various linguistic profiles and requirements, security requirements and/or various tenures within the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI), which may vary according to the position being staffed.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
• A degree or diploma from a post-secondary institution specializing in Cyber security, computer science/engineering, data science, information technology, or another relevant field OR an acceptable combination of relevant professional industry experience and education.

Degree equivalency

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
• Recent* experience in Cyber threat data, information and the intelligence life cycle (planning, collection, processing, analysis, production or dissemination), working in one of the following areas: Cyber security information & event management, infrastructure security, security tools administration, security architecture, security operations, data science or a related control function. Relevant experience includes:
- Analyses of Cyber threat data, generation and dissemination of actionable threat intelligence and insights.
- Support, administration, and maintenance of Cyber security threat and incident management systems/tools and data.
- Administration of data management systems that allow for the secure storage, query, protection, and utilization of Cyber threat data.

*Recent experience is defined as experience gained within the last 3 years. Experience gained at a relevant post-secondary program, co-op, internship or postdoctoral work counts toward experience.

• Graduate degree in Cyber security or Computer/Data science.
