These positions are located in Ottawa; however, the successful candidate may work from one of the OSFI offices across Canada: Ottawa or Toronto.

As a result of the global pandemic, OSFI employees are currently working from home. Duties

The Regulatory Information Officer will play an important role within the Regulatory Data Management’s team (RDA). This position will support the creation and modification of our returns configuration according to the established business and technical requirements as well as the technical support liaison (BI Team, PWC). Supporting the translation insights into strategic recommendations combined to a knowledge of SQL, and in collaboration with the Business Analysts, the Regulatory Information Officer will:

• Administer the intake of regulatory data, including creating return schedules and overseeing filer submissions and provides general filer assistance
• Overrides and/or disables rules after impact assessment and as authorized by the Manager
• Liaises with filers to resolve general reporting problems; provides feedback on these issues to Manager
• Publishes or distributes regulatory financial data according to data-sharing agreements
• Processing of Late Filing Penalties
• Contributes to overall development process improvements
• Support team in providing technical advice to clients for the selection, design, development, testing, delivery, installation, integration and maintenance of RDM applications, databases, software and tools
• Contributes to the conduct of impact analyses and feasibility studies to produce technical business solutions
• Participate in discussions to obtain agreement on service requirements or the resolution of technical issues
• Conduct or coordinate research and evaluation of technical products/tools by maintaining knowledge of trends in systems analysis and design, application/web design and development, application testing and implementation techniques and practices
• Supports the development of application development standards
• Represent OSFI at user group meetings and discussions

Intent of the process

The immediate intent is to staff two positions on a 2 year term basis: one bilingual imperative BBB/BBB position and one English Essential position.

A pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates may be created to staff similar or identical positions with various linguistic profiles and requirements, security requirements and/or various tenures within the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI), which may vary according to the position being staffed.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
• A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution specializing in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business or Accounting or any other relevant specialization OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
• Recent* and significant** experience supporting a regulatory data collection system
• Recent* and significant** experience creating and executing test cases to ensure data quality
