Candidates must clearly demonstrate with concrete examples, IN THE PRE-SCREENING QUESTIONS, how they meet the education and experience factors listed in the essential qualifications. Candidates who fail to provide sufficient information will be eliminated from further consideration.
A random and/or top down selection of candidates will be used to select candidates and to determine who will be given further consideration in the assessment process as positions become available.
By joining our team, you will have opportunity to provide direct support to health services and community based programming. You will build and support strong working relationships with First Nations and Inuit communities, families, and individuals, with a focus on improving health outcomes and reducing health risks.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, some employees of Indigenous Services Canada are currently working remotely. The department is actively working on a flexible, phased approach for the safe return of employees to their usual workspaces. Therefore, this opportunity may initially be a remote working opportunity. When it is deemed safe to return to the workplace, the opportunity will be in an Indigenous Services Canada office located in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The pool also be used to staff similar positions with various tenures, various language requirements, various security requirements, as well as various locations within Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) and Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC).

EDUCATION :
Occupational certification: Eligibility for registration as a registered nurse in a province or territory of Canada.
AND
Education: Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable specialization in nursing, nursing service administration, nursing education or some other specialty relevant to the positon.
EXPERIENCE :
• Experience in providing Home Care or Primary Care Nursing in one or more of the following areas :
- Wound management
- Chronic disease management
- Palliative care
• Recent* experience in establishing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with stakeholders (First Nation leadership, health directors, nurses, tribal councils, private enterprise(s), academic, government, RHA, etc.). *recent is defined as having experience within the last 2 years.
• Experience managing the development, implementation or evaluation of health programs and/or services.
EXPERIENCE :
• Experience with accreditation standards
• Experience with Microsoft Office Word, and PowerPoint.

EDUCATION :
• Master’s degree in Nursing or Community Health from a Canadian University or recognized equivalent.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :

• Willingness and ability to travel in small aircraft, off-road vehicles and by boat in varied weather conditions to communities in remote and isolated areas, as required.

• Willingness to complete education/training relevant to the position.
• Maintain current and ongoing certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation-Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.
• Willingness to obtain and maintain certification in other certification programs as deemed necessary by employer.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license or personal mobility associated with the possession of a valid driver’s license.
