EDUCATION
• Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, or some other engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.
• OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION: Eligibility for Certification as a professional engineer in Canada with specialization in an engineering specialty relevant to the position.
EXPERIENCE
• Significant* experience in managing infrastructure projects.
• Significant* experience in the design of community infrastructure.
• Significant* experience in managing technical staff and financial resources.
• Significant* experience in Risk Assessment and Analysis.
Significant* experience in the technical evaluation of engineering reports.
• Experience in selecting and overseeing consultants and contractors.
• Experience in providing strategic advice and preparing briefing materials to senior management (Director level and above) on technical, operational, or strategic issues.
• Experience engaging with various internal and external stakeholders.
* Significant is defined as experience normally associated with having performed the activities related to this position over a cumulative period of at least five (5) or more years.

EXPERIENCE
• Experience in project management.
• Experience working with First Nations and First Nation agencies.
• Experience in leading and managing a team of multidisciplinary engineering professionals or technical specialists engaged in activities involving the inspection, maintenance, design and construction of infrastructure in the delivery of multi year projects.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Willingness and ability to travel to remote locations via small aircraft, vehicle or boat and traveling in some adverse road and weather conditions.
• Willingness and ability to work overtime.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
