Education:
• Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Remarks:
Indeterminate incumbents in the IT group on December 9, 2021 who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.

****All Candidates must meet the Stream 1 essential experience in order to be considered, those with sufficient experience will be considered for Stream 2 as well. ****
Experience Stream 1 (IT-01):
•Experience in deploying or supporting Microsoft Windows operating systems (Windows 10 and later) and the Microsoft Office Suite (Office 2016 and later).
•Experience in troubleshooting various devices, such as micro-computers, printers, mobile phones, scanners, etc.
•Recent* experience in providing IT advice and guidance to users.
Experience Stream 2 (IT-02):
•Working autonomously/without direct supervision.
•Over 2 years experience in providing IT advice, guidance, technical support, or client service to users.
•Experience with an IT ticketing system (Assyst, Remedy, etc).
•Experience supporting clients with a endpoint management tool (SMP, MECM, etc).
•Experience providing support to remote users.
*Note recent is defined as experience gained within the past 2 years.
Experience:
• Experience in integrating IT systems with scientific lab equipment and associated applications.

Operational Requirements:
• Willingness and ability to work overtime on weekends and evenings occasionally, sometimes with short notice.
• Travel may be required on short notice.
• Physical effort may be required, such as, but not limited to, stooping, bending, lifting, reaching under desks and performing light duty maintenance or installation of equipment.
