The successful candidate will work with the supervisor and team of researchers to help develop a hazard assessment for Mount Garibaldi (Nch’kay), based on new field mapping, geological sample analyses, and other geological information.
The intention is to staff one student position for the completion of a Master of Science degree at the University of British Columbia.

Your résumé.
• Currently enrolled or in the process of enrolling at the University of British Columbia in a Master of Science program, specializing in Geosciences.
• Graduation with a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts, with a specialization in Geology or other relevant specialization from a recognized post-secondary institution.
In the context of student recruitment in the federal public service, experience can be acquired through studies, work experience or volunteer activities.
• Experience in field mapping of volcanic rocks.
• Experience conducting and interpreting geological analyses of volcanic rocks.
• Experience preparing scientific reports.
English essential
