Assist in conducting research and development in the field of fluidized bed conversion for steam and hydrogen production, power generation, and other applications.
Fabricate, assemble, install, repair, and operate equipment required for pilot plants.
Carry out operational activities: maintaining logs, files, records, and supply inventories required for experiments.
Incorporate health and safety guidelines, processes and procedures in work processes and products.
This assignment will require full-time presence at the Bells Corners Complex.

This position is located at the Bells Corners Complex, situated within Ottawa’s Greenbelt, yet close to restaurants and shopping within the area of Bells Corners. Situated between Nepean and Kanata, we are close to the Bayshore bus station as well as the Eagleson/Terry Fox Park and Ride with bus access to the Complex. This location also features trails and walking paths as well as workplace wellness programs including running, fitness and mental health initiatives to boost employee morale and work/life balance.
The intent of this process is to staff 2 1-year term positions.
A pool of candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions at the same group and level within Natural Resources Canada with various tenures (determinate period or permanent), various language requirements (English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential, or Bilingual), and profile(s) (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc.), various security requirements (Reliability status or Secret clearance).

Information on language requirements
Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) 2015 regulations.
Knowledge of high-pressure fitting types and requirements for their use.

Experience in installing high-pressure piping or high pressure vessels.
Experience working with hazardous gases such as oxygen, carbon monoxide, or hydrogen sulphide.

Willing and able to follow detailed operational procedures.
Reliability Status security clearance
Must be able and willing to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods including respirator, hardhat, eye and hearing protection.
Willing and able to climb stairs and ladders.
Willing and able to work in hazardous environments with exposure to chemicals, noise, and extreme temperatures.
