1. Participating in the creation of indices and decision support tools to support sustainable agriculture.
2. Testing and validating soil moisture from a water budget model and comparing simulated outputs with measured quantities.
3. Calibrating and validating a crop model to assess impacts of climate change and variability on agriculture.
The hiring division; Agroclimate, Geomatics and Earth Observation (ACGEO), is a virtual centre where staff are spread out across Canada. Team members participate in project activities virtually on a collaborative basis.

Education:
Currently enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program in a recognize post-secondary academic institution with specialization in: physics, geology, chemistry, geography, earth sciences, environment, agriculture or some other science relevant to the position.
Experience:
Experience* working with programming and scripting languages to process and analyze large datasets.
Experience* in the use of statistical software such as SAS, R etc, for the analysis of spatial and non-spatial datasets.
Experience* in processing, managing and analyzing geophysical information and data.
*Note: In the context of student recruitment in the Federal Public Service, the experience can be acquired through the studies, work experience or volunteer activities.
