Duties

The MSc student will participate in the planning of experiments to answer research hypothesis. She/he will be responsible for executing the study including wide variety of activities (growing plants in biotron, conducting gas exchange studies, collecting leaf tissue sampling for isotope analysis and associating the results with growth physiology and biomass yields) along with writing scientific manuscripts. The student will present the findings at a national conference/meeting.

Work environment

The work involves biotron experiments and labs work at the Western University. All student thesis meeting will take virtual via zoom/MS Teams platforms.

Education:
Currently enrolled or will be enrolled by date of appointment in a Master’s Program at the Western University, London (ON) with a specialization in one of the following: Plant Sciences, Environment and Natural Resources or a related field.

*Note: Must be currently recognized as having full-time student status in the academic institution in which you are presently enrolled, pending approval of acceptance or in the process of submitting your application. (proof of enrollment will be required prior to start date) and must be returning to full-time studies for your next academic term.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
Experience* growing plants either in greenhouse or Biotron facilities.

*In the context of student recruitment in the Federal Public Service, the experience can be acquired through the studies, work experience, or volunteer activities.
