The immediate need is to staff one position on an indeterminate basis.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established to staff similar temporary, and/orpermanent positions, (including acting appointments and deployments) in "J" Division, RCMP.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, theappointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category forthe CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicablecandidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertisedprocess.

Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
Note:
1. Indeterminate incumbents in the IT group on December 9, 2021 who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
2. Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
3. At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met using this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.
1. Significant* experience with Microsoft server system environment including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and security.
2. Significant* experience with VMware Vsphere, vCenter infrastructure and maintenance.
3. Significant* experience with the design, implementation, management, security, performance analysis and troubleshooting of LAN and WAN insfrastructures based on routers, switches, VPNs and firewalls, such as Cisco ASA.
4. Significant* experience in configuration and maintenance of server backup software, tape backup systems, virus detection software, OS updates and server applications.
5. Experience with Information Technology-Application Development and Maintenance.
*Significant is defined as having performed the function for a minimum of 3 years.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Experience with analog and IP cameras including a good understanding of lenses, video protocols and performance issues.
2. Experience with electronic design including control systems, antenna design, circuit board layout, protection circuitry and status monitoring systems.
3. Experience with project management.
