Assessment accommodation

On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.

As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. Should you reach the point in the selection process where it is necessary to verify terms and conditions of employment then the hiring manager or a human resources representative will contact you in order to complete an attestation.

Work environment

The Canadian Coast Guard College is a national maritime training facility located on scenic Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. It’s a national college that provides training and services in French and English. It delivers programs to support the College’s mission and mandate in marine safety, security and environmental protection.

The college’s unique and specialized training is sought after by organizations around the world. Each year, highly trained graduates join their colleagues as Coast Guard officers to provide services that are critical to Canadians.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff one (1) position on a temporary basis. A list of qualified candidates will be created and may be used to staff similar positions, on a temporary or permanent basis, within the Canadian Coast Guard College in Sydney, NS.

Education:
A secondary school diploma or acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
- Significant* experience in the management and the provision of accommodations or hotel services.

*Significant is associated with 2 years of experience

Asset Education:
Successful completion of a post-secondary program from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in hospitality management.

Degree equivalency

Asset Experience:
Experience in the management of human and financial resources.
