- Supervises SSO interviewers and PSAC Data Collection Supervisors in a remote, office, or field setting.
- Assists in the management of regional data collection activities of a fluctuating number of ongoing and ad hoc surveys and/or census projects.
- Establishes and adjusts work schedules. Analyses and monitors the work of subordinate staff. Manages the work of subordinate supervisors.
- Participates in the preparation of budgets, manages authorized budgets and assists in the preparation of financial reviews.
- Oversees the recruitment and selection of Statistical Survey Operations employees and provides and/or oversees their training.
- Reviews work methods and procedures to assess and improve the security and quality control of regional data collection.
- Promotes respondent participation in surveys.
- Assesses, resolves and responds to complaints from the public.
- Communicates orally and in writing with staff, respondents and individuals from collection partners, and internal and external stakeholders
- Gathers local intelligence on changes in regional market places, industries and communities which could impact respondent relations, data quality and survey response rates and advises Head Office staff of these trends.

EDUCATION
ED. Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution or
an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may be
accepted.
EXPERIENCE
EXP1. Significant** experience in supervising staff which must include at least THREE (3) of the following:
- managing and/or directing the work of others
- setting performance expectations
- monitoring performance on a regular basis
- providing coaching and/or training
- completing and delivering formal employee evaluations
EXP2. Recent* and significant** experience providing information or recommendations to supervisors or managers.
EXP3. Recent* experience in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
NOTES
*Recent experience is defined as experience acquired in the last three (3) years.
**Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally acquired through the full-time performance of the activities related to a position for a period of at least twelve (12) months.
