Work environment

IOGC is an organization committed to managing and regulating oil and gas resources on First Nation reserve lands. It is a non-unionized special operating agency within Indigenous Services Canada. IOGC is responsible for the administration of oil and gas resources on First Nation reserve lands across Canada, primarily south of the 60th parallel. Most of IOGC's work is in Western Canada in the area of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin.

Intent of the process

This is a full-time indeterminate position. A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar term and/or indeterminate positions.

EDUCATION:
1. Graduation from a recognized university with Bachelor of Science in environmental sciences, biological sciences, forestry, wildlife, agriculture, chemistry, conservation & enforcement, or other specialization relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
1. Significant experience interpreting and applying relevant environmental legislation, with respect to requirements, standards, assessments and remediation & reclamation of oil and gas sites.

2. Experience in managing a team of professionals and technical staff.

3. Direct experience working with First Nations and addressing issues, with a First Nations interest, on First Nation lands.
