Education:
• Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in a field relevant to the duties of the position
Notes:
1. Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CO group on June 21, 2021, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standards based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the CO group.
2. At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience, that is comparable to a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization relevant to the work to be performed, may serve as an alternative to meet the minimum education standard. Whenever the minimum education standard is met through this alternative, it is met only for the position being staffed, and candidates must be re-assessed for future appointments or deployments where the manager has decided to use this alternative.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
• Experience in conducting detailed evaluations and assessments of funding proposals
• Experience in preparing detailed financial and economic reports and other documents for senior management
• Experience in negotiating complex funding agreements and budgets
• Experience in leading projects

Knowledge:
• Knowledge of the Financial Administration Act, Treasury Board of Canada Policies and financial auditing techniques
• Knowledge of procurement, contracting and transfer payment process in the government of Canada
• Knowledge of forest industry in Canada

Abilities & Competencies:
• Ability to analyze information, assess current and potential implications and provide advice
• Ability to work in an environment characterized by multiple demands and tight deadlines
• Ability to communicate effectively orally
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing

On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.
As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. Should you reach the point in the selection process where it is necessary to verify terms and conditions of employment then the hiring manager or a human resources representative will contact you in order to complete an attestation.
