A pool of partially qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances. Depending on the position being staffed, additional qualifications may be required by the hiring manager. Applicants will be provided with the opportunity to submit information relevant to any additional qualifications that may be applied.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

ED1. Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
Notes:
1. Indeterminate incumbents in the IT group on December 9, 2021 who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
2. Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
3. At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum education stated above. For All Streams
EX1. Recent** experience providing client support for IT systems in a multi-site environment.
EX2. Recent** experience supporting the life cycle management of workstation, servers, network equipment or application software.

Stream 1 - Sever Infrastructure
EX3. Significant* experience in support of VMware vSphere 6.x or newer.
EX4. Significant* experience in the installation and maintenance of Windows Server 2016/2019 or Ubuntu and/or RedHat distributions.
EX5. Recent** experience with at least one (1) of the following programming languages and/or markup/template languages: Python, BASH, Windows PowerShell, Yaml, Json, Jinja
*“Significant” is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of the duties for a period of approximately two (2) years.
**“Recent” is defined as experience acquired within approximately the past five (5) years.
Stream 2 - End User Infrastructure Stream
EX6. Recent** enterprise experience in the configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of at least one (1) of the following technologies: Active Directory, LDAP directory servers, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager.
EX7. Significant* experience in the installation, configuration and maintenance of Windows 10/11.
EX8. Recent** experience with at least 1 of the following programming languages and/or markup/template languages: Windows Powershell, BASH, Python.

Stream 3 - Network Infrastructure Stream

EX10. Recent** experience in the installation, configuration and maintenance of Firewall appliances, VPN technologies and Linux operating systems.

Stream 4 - Support Stream
EX11. Recent** experience in installing, configuring and maintaining server based IT applications.

AEX1. Recent experience working with Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and/or Redhat Enterprise Linux 8 operating systems.
AEX2. Recent experience managing server infrastructure using products such as SaltStack, Ansible and/or Terraform.
AEX3. Recent experience working with VMWare 7.x
Stream 2 - End User Infrastructure
AEX4. Recent experience working with Active Directory administration tools such as DNS, DHCP, Admin Center.
AEX5. Recent experience managing client workstations using products such as Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager and/or other endpoint management solutions.
AEX6. Recent experience applying workstation images using PXE.
Stream 3 - Network Infrastructure
AEX7. Recent experience with Cisco Routers, Switches, VPN Appliances or Forcepoint Firewalls.
