A qualified candidate may be offered the position even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications. Our team provides Subject Matter Expertise (SME) throughout the projects lifecycle, working in close collaboration with project stakeholders to create innovative, practical and buildable designs. We work with architects, contractors and other consultants in Canada and abroad. We help ensure our buildings are safe, secure, sustainable, efficient, and habitable for all Global Affairs Canada employees.
Immediate need: 1 position to be staffed on an indeterminate basis with a bilingual imperative BBB/BBB or CBC/CBC linguistic profile. This process may be used to create a pool of qualified candidates as well as to fill identical or similar positions with various linguistic profiles at the Department of Global Affairs Canada.

Stream 2: Senior Electrical Systems Specialist (EG-07) - annual rates of pay (in dollars) for this group and level: $84,808 to $103,181

Education:
For both streams:
Post-secondary diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology from a recognized college.
OR
An acceptable combination of education, training and experience as an electrical designer.
Must be recognized as a qualified person to work on electrical equipment as defined in the Canada Occupational Health and Safety Part VIII – Electrical safety.
Experience:
For both streams:
A minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in the construction, supervision or commissioning of electrical systems related to buildings such as but not limited to primary and secondary distribution systems, emergency power systems, lighting & lighting control and Life Safety Systems, and renewable energy.
A minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in design or design review for electrical systems related to buildings such as but not limited to primary and secondary distribution systems, emergency power systems, lighting & lighting control and Life Safety Systems, and renewable energy.
For Stream 2 only:
Experience in analyzing requirements and providing advice and recommendations on technical matters to various audiences such as clients and management.
Experience managing Technical staff.
Education:
For both streams:
Master electrician license or equivalent.
Commissioning certification(s) from industry organizations (CBCP, BCxP, etc.)
Experience:
For both streams:
Experience conducting quality assurance review and commissioning of electrical and life safety systems.
Experience in delivery of construction projects outside of Canada.
Experience developing Commissioning process for LEED projects.
For Stream 2 only:
Experience managing financial resources.
