Duties

The Enterprise Architect leads IM/IT through the business, information, process and technology changes necessary to execute its strategic plan. They provide an enterprise-wide perspective to system development, system integration and business capabilities and software procurement initiatives in support of all of the capabilities that FCAC requires in order to achieve its mandate. Working tder the direct leadership of the Director IM/IT, the enterprise architect assures adherence to FCAC’s architecture standards in order to ensure the delivery of high quality maintainable solutions.

Intent of the process

We are seeking to staff one (1) indeterminate (permanent) position.

This selection process may be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates, which could be used to staff similar or identical positions with various linguistic profiles and requirements, security profiles and various tenures.

EDUCATION

Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

Significant** experience formulating and presenting advice, analysis and recommendations to senior management (Director level and above) on complex* IM/IT issues, policies or standards

Recent*** and significant** experience playing a leadership role in the development and implementation of departmental business architectures OR information / data architectures OR application architectures OR technology architectures

Experience in business analysis, facilitation and process modeling

Experience identifying, implementing, and improving business capabilities at a strategic level

Experience developing and implementing annual business plans or project budgets / cost estimates in IM/IT programs or projects at a strategic level

Definitions:
*A complex IM/IT issue or project is defined as spanning many stakeholder groups, multiple years, and with a total cost >$200k.

**Significant experience is understood to mean the depth and breadth of the experience normally associated with having performed a broad-range of activities related to this task which is normally acquired over a period of at least two (2) years.

***Recent experience - Recent experience is defined as being within the last five (5) years.
