As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. The positions will involve ON-SITE field and laboratory research and entails assisting technical staff with field preparation, seeding, sampling, plot maintenance and harvesting of field plots; processing of plant and insect samples collected in agricultural field crops; identification of insect species, recording and entry of data.
This is an ON-SITE field and laboratory research position with emphasis on outdoor work duties supporting the Agronomy and Pest Management Programs located at the Beaverlodge Research Farm. These are field crop and entomology research programs.
Hours of Work: 8:00 to 4:30 Monday to Friday (compensated overtime is required)
We are seeking to fill TWO full-time CASUAL (90-working-day) contracts with start dates of May 2, 2022 (or as soon as Human Resources documents can be completed).
This process is for casual employment only which is a temporary employment of 90 workings days or less in a calendar year.

• Graduated from an accredited high school.
• Possess strong written/oral communication and listening skills.
• Willing to work with other people and/or by themselves.
• Demonstrate computer literacy in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Possess an understanding and/or experience in agriculture and crops grown in the Peace River region.
• Possess post-secondary training in any science-related field is an asset.
Reliability Status security clearance
• Possess and provide valid Class 5 Driver’s License within 7 days of request.
• Willing to work outdoors.
• Willing to occasionally work indoors with insect and spider specimens.
• Willing to work overtime (compensated with time off).
