Duties
→ Contributes to development of genetic markers associated with traits of interest in tree fruits and their application in screening populations.
→ Contributes to the understanding of fundamental plant genetics, plant physiology and Plant-pathogen interactions.
→ Contributes to the development of bioassays or analytical techniques for samples.
→ Contributes to collection of phenotypic data from breeding selections.
→ Contributes to the development of alternative methods of breeding, crop production and
protection.
→ Carries out research activities under lab, field and greenhouse conditions.
→ Contributes to the development and maintenance of plant hybrids, cultures, genetic material identification tools.
→ Contributes to the production of presentations, reports, and publications.
→ Contributes to the development of laboratory standard operating procedures for research activities.
→ Maintains a laboratory by ordering supplies and materials, maintaining and calibrating equipment, and assist in managing budgets.
