As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. Duties to include but not limited to:
1. Grounds maintenance including mowing , trimming, and care of bedding plants
2. Maintaining records of work done
3. Assisting other facilities members with projects when required
4. General maintenance of buildings including but not limited to painting, caulking, and changing light bulbs
5. Other related duties
This is an on-site position at the AAFC Research and Development Centre in Beaverlodge, AB. The position requires work to be done both indoors and outdoors at the Centre.
As a member of the facilities staff, you will be working in a variety of buildings and outdoor settings doing a wide range of tasks. As such there is exposure to dirt, fumes, noise, humidity, and hazardous materials. At times you will be expected to spend long hours running grounds machinery.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 8 am to 4:30 PM Full time
The intent of this inventory is to fill one full-time casual contract, with a start date as soon as possible.
The main focus of this casual position will be grounds maintenance. There will be opportunities to do other work with facilities staff as time allows.
Note: casual contracts are temporary employment that may not exceed 90 workings days in one calendar year.
