Responsible for providing administrative services for an executive of a Business Unit. The job can expect to conduct research, create statistical reports, prepare agenda’s and take minutes, and budgets. The job may provide functional supervision, leadership and support to other administrative staff.
Qualified candidates may be used to staff other similar positions at an equivalent or lower level on a term, indeterminate, or acting basis.

Experience:
EQ1 Experience supporting management in the budget management cycle, and budget planning/forecasting.
EQ 2 Experience using the Microsoft Suite of applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
EQ3 Experience in editing and reviewing correspondence or briefing notes.
EQ4 Significant experience in the management of a senior manager’s calendar, agenda and managing the flow of information.
Note: For the purpose of this process, ‘significant’ experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally acquired over several years of substantively more progressive and complex responsibilities.

Asset Qualifications

Information on employment equity
1. On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service. Link: www.canada.ca/en/treasury-board-secretariat/news/2021/10/backgrounder-covid-19-vaccine-requirement-for-the-federal-workforce.html
As per the new CER Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination, all employees of the CER must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual and student hiring. Should you reach the point in the selection process where it is necessary to verify terms and conditions of employment then the hiring manager or a human resources representative will contact you in order to complete an attestation.
2. The CER has a classification system that differs from the greater public service. This NEB-06 position is similar to an AS-03 in terms of salary range only. The benefits offered, including relocation assistance, may be significantly different than those offered in the greater public service. This position is subject to CER’s Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada Collective Agreement.
3. Salary: Effective 1 November 2021 NEB-06, $59,467 to $72,519
The CER has the following forms of additional compensation that are separate from base salary, the eligibility for which is determined, in accordance with the provisions in the collective agreement or terms and conditions of employment for the duration period specified:
• a Calgary Allowance in the amount of 4.95% of base salary may be paid on a bi-weekly payroll basis depending on work location
• annual performance pay which includes elements of individual performance (60% of payout) and corporate performance (40% of payout)
