Assessment accommodation

Duties

Working in a fast-paced environment, the Regional Program Advisor and the Regional Program Development Team Lead are responsible for developing and facilitating stakeholder relationships, negotiating capacity-building initiatives and supporting teams who deliver Jordan’s Principle funding directly to service providers.

The Child and Family Services Directorate of Indigenous Services Canada is responsible for engaging and collaborating with Indigenous organizations, other levels of government, and service organizations to improve the delivery of child and family services in Indigenous communities. The Directorate supports the development of Indigenous-led solutions for improved child welfare, and invests in capacity-building initiatives for First Nations who have expressed interest in exercising their jurisdiction over child and family services, with a view to reducing the number of Indigenous children in care.

As part of this work, the Directorate is responsible for implementing the orders of the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal related to the First Nations Child and Family Services Program and administering Jordan’s Principle in British Columbia. Jordan’s Principle addresses service gaps in the delivery of health, social and educational needs to First Nations children. This ensures that First Nations children receive the services they need without delay, while the Directorate works with First Nations partners, the provincial government and service organizations on long-term approaches.

Intent of the process

A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar and lower level positions with various tenures, operational requirements, conditions of employment and/or security clearances, which may vary according to the position being staffed.

Virtual work arrangements may be available and will be determined on a case by case basis dependent on operational feasibility at the time of hiring and the position to be staffed. Some positions require the selected candidate to work in the office. This will be determined by the hiring manager based on the duties of the position to be staffed.
