Intent of the process

A pool of partially assessed candidates will be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions, within the Department of Public Services and Procurement Canada, with various language requirements, security requirements and/or tenures within the National Capital Region.

Acting opportunities may be offered to internal employees who qualify in the pool.

A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

1. Experience in managing the daily operations of a warehouse consisting of an inventory of material and equipment
2. Experience working in a client service environment, delivering products and/or services to clients in the public and/or private sectors.
3. Experience working on multi-disciplinary project teams.

Conditions of employment

Secret security clearance

All employees of the core public administration are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and attest to their vaccination status unless accommodated based on a medical contraindication, religion, or another prohibited ground for discrimination as defined under the Canadian Human Rights Act.

Must be able to lift and install heavy equipment and successfully pass the Physical Demands Analysis test.

The work requires sustained physical effort and exposure to disagreeable conditions such as inclement weather during outdoor installations, surrounding noise, heights, vehicle and pedestrian traffic, prolonged travel status and lifting of heavy equipment (exterior bases weigh 90lbs each).

Individuals must not have any pre-existing conditions or injuries that would prevent them from performing the work required.

Must possess a valid Ontario Class “G” or equivalent driver’s licence.

Must be willing to work overtime and travel across Canada as required and on short notice.

Must have steel-toed CSA approved safety footwear.

Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain the above conditions of employment throughout their employment.

VACCINATION:
On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.

As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. Should you reach the point in the selection process where it is necessary to verify terms and conditions of employment then the hiring manager or a human resources representative will contact you in order to complete an attestation.

Preference

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
