Intent of the process

This is an anticipatory process.

A pool of qualified candidates will be established and used to staff future indeterminate and/or temporary CR-05 positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Edmonton, Alberta. In the event of a temporary vacancy, the following staffing actions may be used and/or considered: acting, assignment, deployment, secondment or term appointment.

• Recent* experience using PROS with End User Certification.
*Recent experience signifies having performed these duties within the last 2 years.

• Experience providing administrative support services in a law enforcement, judicial or quasi-judicial environment.

• Experience maintaining a law enforcement database such as: Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC), Police Information Retrieval Systems (PIRS), Police Reporting and Occurrence System (PROS), Automated Criminal Intelligence Information System (ACIIS), National Criminal Data Bank (NCDB).

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Willingness and ability to work in a busy police environment, including exposure to unsettling and/or graphic material.

• Willingness and ability to work overtime, as required.

• Willingness and ability to travel for work and/or training purposes using various modes of transportation, including owned or leased government transport, commercial and light aircraft and up to and including remote locations.

• Willingness and ability to maintain a valid driver's license, or have personal mobility to the degree normally associated with a driver's license.

• Willingness and ability to work shift work (24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year).

Conditions of employment

• RCMP Top Secret security clearance.
Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain a RCMP Security Clearance throughout their employment.

Candidates may be assessed using one or more of the following tools: standardized tests, written exam, interview, simulation exercise and reference checks.
