Intent of the process

This selection process will be used to staff positions within the Canadian Coast Guard in Prince Rupert, BC. A pool of qualified candidates will be created and may be used to staff similar positions, on a temporary or permanent basis.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Current and valid Rope Access or Fall Arrest Certification (SPRAT or IRATA Level 1)

Minimum 1 years’ experience working on guyed or self-supporting communication towers and other antenna supporting structures.

Experience in the installation, removal, and maintenance of antennas and transmission line systems respective to land based communications infrastructure.

Willing and able to climb towers and work at heights in excess of 2.4m.
Willing and able to travel for up to 3 week periods of time to remote sites via; trucks, boats and aircraft.
Willing and able to access remote sites over rugged terrain and work outdoors in extremes of environmental conditions

Information on employment equity

On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.

As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status.
