On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.
As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. Should you reach the point in the selection process where it is necessary to verify terms and conditions of employment then the hiring manager or a human resources representative will contact you in order to complete an attestation.
Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet the essential, education and experience factors listed by answering the screening questions. Candidates should write concrete examples demonstrating how they meet the experience and education requirements.
It is NOT sufficient to only state that the qualifications are met or to provide a listing of current or past responsibilities. The answers to the screening questions / requirements will be the main source of information used by the assessment board to determine whether you meet the essential, asset, education and experience factors. Education:
ED: Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology, or statistics.
Note: Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience
EX1: Significant* experience** in researching and analyzing large data sets.
EX2: Experience** in analyzing data using statistical/geospatial packages, such as SQL or ArcGIS.
EX3: Experience** in briefing senior management (i.e., Director and above or private sector equivalent) verbally or in writing via briefing notes, reports, or presentation decks.
EX4: Experience** in working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
*Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience generally gained over a span of two (2) years of full-time work.
**Experience is defined as experience gained through paid or volunteer work, or through completion of graduate-level research projects. Examples citing academic coursework or undergraduate degree requirements will not be accepted.

AEX2: Experience using statistical software to analyze data in multivariate statistical analysis of large data sets.
AEX3: Experience in conducting economic or statistical analyses of transportation research projects, policies, programs or legislation/regulations.
AEX4: Experience with Bayesian statistics, or spatial analyses, or spectral analysis, or time-series analysis.
