The RCMP is recruiting for entry level CR-04/ CR-05 opportunities across the North District area of BC. These opportunities are located in a law enforcement environment which includes regular contact with uniformed and armed police officers. Intent of the process

This inventory is for casual employment. Casual employment is temporary employment of 90 working days or less in a calendar year, to meet needs for temporary vacancies arising from vacation, sick leave, training, special projects, etc.

NOTE: Casual appointees will not be eligible to apply to internal appointment processes.

Should a CM be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to another category for the member.

Education:
Successful completion of two years of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
Experience in providing administrative support services in an office environment.

Experience using word processing software such as Microsoft Word.

Experience using spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
1. Experience providing administrative support in police environment.

2. Experience providing administrative support services to senior management.

3. Experience extracting data and/or preparing statistical reports.

4. Experience providing record management support.

5. Experience using the Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC).

6. Experience using the Police Records Information Management Environment (PRIME).

7. Experience interpreting and processing court documents.

8. Experience providing guidance and processing Access to Information and Privacy requests.

9. Experience using a human resources information management system such as PeopleSoft.

10. Experience using Total Expenditure and Asset Management System (TEAM) and/or Systems, Applications & Products (SAP).

11. Experience in transcribing audio statements in English.

12. Experience providing budget and financial support.

Information on employment equity

Successful candidates will require a valid RCMP security clearance prior to appointment and throughout the tenure of their employment. The process to obtain RCMP security clearance involves a security/reliability interview and a field investigation regarding matters of criminal activity which includes reference checks, verification of credit/financial status, education, employment, etc . As such, the process may take several weeks or months to complete.

Candidates will be required to pay for their own travel (including travel for assessment purposes), and will be required to pay for their own relocation expenses.

Preference

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
