As senior technician for a laboratory specializing in soil phosphorus biogeochemistry, duties will include: leading and coordinating field sample collection and laboratory analyses, assigning work and training others, maintaining laboratory equipment, ensuring laboratory safety, using and adapting laboratory methods as needed, ordering supplies, and organizing and managing data.

Experience managing a research or laboratory environment, including allocating resources, allocating work, and assigning staff.
Experience designing experiments and performing analysis.
Experience collecting soil, plant or water samples from field plots.
Experience managing large multi-year data sets.

Experience coordinating resources and personnel in collaborative research projects.
Experience adapting and developing scientific methods, such as for different instruments or different sample types.

As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status.
