As a result of the global pandemic, OSFI employees are currently working from home. Should the current telework environment no longer apply, and contingent on the operating model adopted by OSFI, you may be required to report into and work onsite from the Toronto or Ottawa Office. As per OSFI’s Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination, employees must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. The Senior Analyst will play an important role within the Advanced Analytics team at OSFI. This position will provide technical expertise and operational support to OSFI’s data science function. Leveraging a mix analytics, math and modeling skillsets, and in collaboration with key stakeholder across the organization, the Senior Analyst will:
-Consult with staff in other divisions to understand their business cases and data analytic needs, perform requirements analysis, and advise on best model/solution for the business problem
-Design, and develop advanced analytics and machine learning tools to derive business insights from data and information
-Facilitate UAT and final solution delivery to stakeholders.
-Collaborate with IM/IT and Data Management and Data Engineering teams to deliver advanced analytics solutions
-Conduct research and evaluation of new analytical tools and methodologies.
-Provide status updates, presentations, recommendations and respond to enquiries from division management.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION:
- A degree from a post-secondary institution specializing in statistics, mathematics, data science, computer science, engineering, business, economics or another relevant field OR an acceptable combination of education, experience and/or training.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:
- Recent* and significant** experience working with modern data management and data analytics tools.
- Recent* and significant** experience building and deploying advanced analytics & data science models and applications.
- Recent* and significant** experience using a scripting language such as Python or R for data preparation, machine learning, and data visualization.
*Recent refers to relevant experience acquired in the past three (3) years.
**Significant is defined in terms of both depth and breadth of experience that is normally acquired by performing the tasks continuously over a minimum period of three (3) or more years.
ASSET EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with natural language processing and/or natural language generation.
- Experience working with cloud technologies such as Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure ML Studio, Azure DevOps.
- Experience in independent model validation and/or peer reviews.

As a Separate Agency, the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) appoints employees in accordance with the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA). OSFI is named in Schedule V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) and it offers the same pension and benefits plans as the core Federal Public Service. In addition to this, OSFI employees obtain a minimum of 4 weeks of vacation leave per year, earn a competitive salary, and are eligible for an annual performance bonus.
Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
