The selected student will contribute to the research by carrying out prairie fruit metabolite analysis using LC/MS and GC/MS analysis and manuscript writing.
Under supervision, the student will be responsible for the study of prairie fruits metabolome to use these fruits as potential functional foods. The student will involve in wide variety of activities such as collecting fruits, sampling, extracting and metabolite analysis at the Winnipeg Canadian Centre for Agri-food Research and Medicine plant bioactives lab and in collaboration with the Morden research and Development Centre mass spectrometry facility.

Education:
Currently enrolled in a Master’s program at the University of Manitoba with a specialization in Chemistry, Food, Animal or Human Nutrition Science or a related field.
Experience:
Experience* in analytical chemistry.

Experience* in biochemistry.
*In the context of student recruitment in the Federal Public Service, the experience can be acquired through the studies, work experience, or volunteer activities.
