Intent of the process :

The intent is to staff four (4) positions on an indeterminate basis located in Gatineau, Qc with the Chief Finances, Results and Delivery Officer sector at Indigenous Services Canada (ISC). If you are found qualified and opportunities become available, you could be considered to staff similar or identical positions at Indigenous Services Canada with various locations and Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada, linguistic profiles, requirement as well as tenures and/or the security clearance, which may vary according to the position being staffed.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:

• Graduation from a three-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with a specialization in Advanced Interior Design or Graduation with diploma in Interior Design or Architectural Technology from a recognized college.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

• Significant and recent experience (*) in front-end project planning, including activities and projects stages such as needs analysis and functional programming.

• Significant and recent experience (*) in providing professional interior design services and fit up project management services.

• Significant and recent experience (*) in the following:
o maintaining financial records in office fit-up projects;
o preparing comprehensive cost estimates for office fit-up projects;
o coordinating project-related procurement plans.

• Significant and recent experience (*) using Computer Assisted Design and Drafting software (CADD) to produce drawings related to interior design such as construction drawings, schematics, plans and details drawings.

(*) Significant and recent experience is defined as performing the identified duties normally acquired over a period of three (3) within the last seven (7 years).

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATIONS:

• Registered Member of a recognized Interior Design Association in Canada.

• Project management professional designation (PMP) or other project management designation.

EXPERIENCE:

• Experience working with MS Project.

The following will be applied / assessed at a later date (essential for the job)

Information on language requirements

KNOWLEDGE:

• Knowledge of Workplace Design Guide and Standards and other related codes.

• Knowledge of current and innovative office furniture trends.

• Knowledge of Project Management principles.

ABILITIES:

• Ability to communicate effectively in writing;

• Ability to communicate effectively orally;

• Ability to plan, organize and manage several priorities concurrently;

• Ability to identify issues, develop solutions and make recommendations.

On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.
As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. Should you reach the point in the selection process where it is necessary to verify terms and conditions of employment then the hiring manager or a human resources representative will contact you in order to complete an attestation.
