Assessment accommodation

The Office of the Information Commissioner (OIC) of Canada is currently seeking a Team Leader or Technical Advisor for its Infrastructure Operations group. The candidate must be bilingual and have a CBC profile for those applying for the Team Leader position or a BBB profile for those applying for the Technical Advisor position.

When answering the screening questions, remember that the assessment board cannot make assumptions about your Education and Experience. It is not sufficient to say that you have the required qualifications or to list your current or past responsibilities. Rather, you must provide concrete examples with significant details to explain WHEN, WHERE and HOW you acquired each qualification. This is similar to what would be expected of you when asked to provide a concrete example of a particular situation in the context of an interview.
 
Candidates must also submit a resume with their application, which will only be used to validate the information provided in their answers to the screening questions.

Work environment

NOTE: A significant amount of work must be done in the office and cannot be completed at home. Successful candidate is required to work in Gainteau, Quebec.

The immediate need is to staff one (1) position. ED: Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum post-secondary education stated above.

Degree equivalency

❃ ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCES ❃
E1 : Recent* and significant** experience administrating, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting computer equipment and software in a Windows-based network environment.

E2: Recent* and significant** experience providing technical support in the development, integration, implementation or maintenance of IT infrastructure components such as, but not limited to, Local Area Network, Municipal Area Network and Wide Area Network (LAN/MAN/WAN), workstations and servers.

E3 : Recent* and significant** experience providing support for an electronic document management system such as RDIMS, GCDocs and SharePoint.

E4 : Recent* and significant** experience administrating and supporting virtual server infrastructure.

* Recent experience is defined as experience acquired within the last five (5) years.
** Significant experience is defined as experience of depth and breadth in a range of complex and varied related activities acquired within a period of three (3) years .

Candidates must meet all the essential qualifications to be appointed to a position.

LEAVE/ABSENCES DURING THIS SELECTION PROCESS: It is the responsibility of the candidate to notify the Departmental contact of any pre-approved leave throughout the duration of the process in order to facilitate scheduling of evaluations.
