On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.

As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in education, linguistics, sociology, psychology, mathematics, physics, home economics or some other specialty relevant to the positions in the classification.

Degree equivalency

Recent experience in developing and implementing fitness programs

*Recent experience means performance of duties within approximately the last 3-5 years.

Graduation with an undergraduate’s degree from a recognized post-secondary instituation with a major or minor in Human Kinetics

Current Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP) Certification or equivalent

Degree equivalency

Experience in records management

Experience in coordinating and preparing individuals for Occupational Fitness Evaluations

Experience in the administration of maximal occupational testing such as Physical Ability. Requirement Evaluation (PARE), Police Officer Physical Ability Test (POPAT), or Physical Readiness Evaluation for Police (PREP)

The successful candidate will be required to provide original documentation of proof of Canadian Citizenship or permanent resident status prior to appointment. Other candidates may also be asked to provide this documentation at various stages in the selection process. The following documents will be accepted as proof: Provincial or territorial birth certificate; Naturalization certificates (issued prior to Jan. 1, 1947); Registration of Birth Abroad certificates (issued between Jan. 1, 1947 and Feb. 14, 1977); Certificates of Retention; Citizenship certificates; Permanent resident card.

Testing/interviews will be conducted at the location of the employer's choice.

Candidates may be required to pay for all assessment and travel expenses.

The successful applicant will have to obtain an RCMP security clearance. The process also requires a Security/Reliability Interview, a field investigation in matters of credit/finances, education, employment, references, on-line activities, alcohol and/or drug use, etc.

Successful applicant is required to work in Regina, Saskatchewan. Telework or alternate work locations will not be an option.

Preference

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
