Duties

As a Storekeeper, you are responsible for managing the ship’s inventory, from main engine parts to deck equipment to food inventory. This includes interacting with international suppliers and shore personnel on a regular basis. You also provide clerical support for personnel administration, pay and benefits, and travel arrangements

Intent of the process

An inventory of qualified candidates will be established and may be used to staff positions on an indeterminate, term or acting basis.

◼ Experience using Microsoft Office products such as: Word, Excel, Outlook

◼ Experience in one or more of the following; procuring, tracking, storing, distributing or conducting
inventory

◼ Possession of valid Marine Emergency Duties Certificates Proficiency in Survival Craft and
Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats (B1)
*required to successfully complete within 6 months from date of initial hire

◼ Valid Food Safety Training

◼ CCG Clerk/Storekeeper’s course
*required to successfully complete within one year from date of initial hire

Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance

◼ Valid Health Canada Medical for seagoing personnel.
◼ Maintain a valid Certificate of Competency
◼ Requirement to go to sea for prolonged periods of time and in adverse weather conditions.
◼ Requirement to wear and maintain a uniform, safety footwear, and personal protective
equipment to Canadian Coast Guard standards.
◼ Willingness and ability to work overtime as required
◼ Willingness to be deployed within the Atlantic Region.
◼ Compliance with the CCG Safety Management System and Standards
◼ Adherence to the Canadian Coast Guard Respiratory Protection Program
◼ For vessels assigned primarily to Search and Rescue operations, employees must be within 30
minutes response time to the vessel during assigned work period.
◼ Valid Canadian Passport (for identified positions)
◼ Must be willing and able to travel by air, land or by sea
